THE Barrington Boar in Ilminster was thrilled to discover they have entered the influential ‘Estrella Top 50 Gastropubs in the UK 2024 List’ in a top 50 position.
The Barrington Boar entered the list for the first time last year at 97, and after a solid year of accolades including a recommendation in The Michelin Guide United Kingdom 2023, the team looks forward to finding out their new position in the list.
The annual ‘Estrella Top 50 Gastropubs in the UK 2024 List’ is created by collecting votes from over 200 industry names, including food critics, chefs, and pub operators.
Owners Alasdair Clifford and Victoria Collins said: “We are so happy, proud and astonished.
“Thank you to all our customers for their support and to our team for working so hard to make our pub so wonderful.
“Hitting this list has always been our aim and we’ve only gone and done it.”
The annual ‘Estrella Top 50 Gastropubs in the UK 2024 List’ is created by collecting votes from over 200 industry names, including food critics, chefs, and pub operators.
The voters are spread evenly across the UK to avoid regional bias and to help discover local hidden gems. The Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs list will be announced on Monday, January 22 2024.
At the end of each year, Conde Nast Traveller looks ahead to what’s coming next in the travel world and picks out the top destinations they’d recommend to fellow globetrotters for the following year.
The Barrington Boar was included in their prestigious ‘Best Places to Go in the UK in 2024’ list, which highlighted Somerset as one of the 12 ‘Best Places to Go in the UK’ next year due to its “farm-to-fork dining and a fresh take on some ancient land.”
The Barrington Boar's annual Christmas Party (14th December) is open for reservations and has a few spaces remaining, whilst tickets are available for their New Year’s Eve celebratory dinner followed by music and dancing.
The pub will be open to everyone from 10.30pm for a real village party feel.
The Barrington Boar’s beautiful private dining room is also available for festive gatherings and events.
