SEVERAL areas in South Somerset were hit by flash floods yesterday (Thursday, December 7).
The recent heavy rain caused disruption across Somerset and the Chard and Ilminster areas were also affected.
Road closures were in place due to flooding and some properties were affected too.
These included the B3165 south of Crewkerne as well as the A358 in Donyatt.

Roads reopened this morning (Friday, December 8) including the A303 which was closed between the A358 Southfields Roundabout near Ilminster and the A3088 Cartgate Roundabout.

Residents and motorists are still warned of possible disruptions as the Met Office issued a new weather warning for rain which will be in place on Saturday, December 9.
The latest forecast said: “Following the heavy rainfall of recent days, a further spell of heavy rain early on Saturday may bring further disruption to travel.”
The warning will be in force from 1am to 9am
