ILMINSTER Bowling & Tennis Club hosted a fundraising evening last week to help pool together funds for tennis coach Rachel Apsey to go compete at the ITF World Masters.
Next April, Apsey is set to head to Mexico to compete in the ITF World Masters Team Championships.
The evening raised £494 to go towards funding her trip to Mexico.
Afterwards, the club said: "We would like to thank everyone who supported the Quiz night last Friday.
"A whopping 89 people attended which we are told may be a record number for a catered social event at the club! Thanks to Charlotte and her team for undertaking this."
The winning team on the night was Combe Raiders and Rachel Charles won the 'guess the weight of the cake' mini game.
An extra thanks was given to the Tennis Club's social organisers.
"Huge thanks to the Tennis social organisers Chris Hunt and Sue Key (not forgetting their spouses) who truly excelled on the night, to everyone who contributed donations for the raffle, and a special thank you to Christine Hunt for baking the cake."
