A McDONALD’S restaurant will install a directional sign outside its Ilminster branch.
A planning application for the free-standing sign at Southfields Enterprise Park has been recently approved.
A planning document read: “This application relates to the installation of one non-illuminated, free-standing sign at Southfields Enterprise Park, Jordans Road, Ilminster.
“The sign is a directional sign to point vehicles to the McDonald's restaurant to the west of Ilminster.”
The document also read: “The proposed sign is one metre by one metre in scale, non-illuminated, and is secured to a pole 1.1m above the ground.
“It is not considered to adversely impact the character of the area. There are no immediately adjoining residential premises that would be impacted by the development.
“As such, the proposed signage is considered acceptable in this regard without detriment to local amenity."
McDonald’s opened in Ilminster in September.
The new 98-seated restaurant created over 100 new full and part-time jobs for the community.
It is open for dine-in, takeaway, Drive-Thru, and Click & Serve 24 hours, seven days a week.
