CHARD Carnival 2023 was “a fantastic day” the committee said after the event took place last week (Saturday, October 14).

A message from Chard Carnival said: “Jason Baker, chairman of Chard Carnival would like to thank all the committee for their support.

“'Without all their hard work and dedication, we wouldn’t have had such an amazing carnival.

“I would also like to thank all the marshalls who volunteered their time, we had 80 as well as the 30 judges who did a fantastic job.

“Another big thank you to all of the clubs and entries for making Chard Carnival a fantastic day.

"Our collection so far is £3,708.56, we still have collecting buckets out in the shops which will remain out for another couple of weeks so please donate if you haven’t had chance to as yet or you can donate via our website chardcarnival.co.uk. 

"We now need to get the totals from our online donations and card donations so we are hoping to hit £4k but will keep you updated.'"
