ILMINSTER Tennis Club coach Rachel Apsey has won a gold medal at the recent International Tennis Foundation World Tennis Masters tournament.
Held in Majorca, Apsey teamed up with Jenny Hughes to represent Great Britain in the Over 55-60 age group.
The pair defeated a German pair, Christine Altman and Katharina Kirchberger 6-1 6-2 in the ladies doubles final to win gold.
After getting a bye in the first round, Apsey and Hughes defeated Spanish partnership Antonia Ballester and Cristina Nicolau Sunyer 6-0 6-1 in the quarter final.
Then in the semi final, they defeated another German pairing in Birgit Muehling and Karin Reinhard 6-1 6-1 to advance into the final.
A spokesperson from Ilminster Tennis Club said: "This is an amazing achievement for Rachel as this tournament is the equivalent of a Grand slam tournament for seniors and includes many world champions and previous ATP and WTA professionals.
"We look forward to seeing Rachel back on the courts soon wearing her gold medal."
