AN Ilminster man who tried to steal cash at a service station has been landed with a £365 court bill.
Maxall Nicholls, 26, of Trafalgar Court, Station Road, pleaded guilty in court to attempting to steal coins of an unknown value at Redlands Service Station, Clyst St Mary, Exeter, on September 6 last year.
Magistrates sitting at North Somerset Magistrates' Court handed him an £80 fine and ordered him to pay a victim surcharge of £80 and a contribution of £85 to prosecution costs.
At the same hearing, Nicholls also admitted a charge of assault in Clyst St Mary on the same day, for which he was fined £120.
A charge of stealing coins at Clyst St Mary was withdrawn.
Nicholls was told to pay his total court bill off at the rate of £10 a fortnight starting on July 13.
