PEOPLE of all ages have been invited to a Christingle service to celebrate the light of Jesus and share a message of hope in the run-up to Christmas.
The service at The Minster, Ilminster, will be held on Sunday, November 11 at 4pm, with everyone from the town and surrounding area invited to come along.
A spokesperson for The Minster said: “Christingle is a joyful celebration for all ages where we tell the story of Jesus using oranges, sweets and candles which brings families and communities together to share the light of Jesus and spread a message of hope.
“Pop on a Christmas sweater and rediscover the festive feeling.”
The Minster will hold a Roots & Shoots Christmas special in the churchyard at 3pm on the same day, with families encouraged to stay for both services.
The Roots & Shoots special is aimed at “the young and young at heart” and will allow guests to “explore God in the great outdoors”.
A spokesperson said: “Roots and Shoots will be relocating for a Christmas Special on Sunday 11th December at 3pm!
“Pack your bags and come on a journey with us through advent-themed stories, games and crafts, topped off by drinks and snacks around the fire pit.
“If you would like to, all are welcome to stay for the popular Christingle Service in The Minster from 4pm.”
