ALL the children at St Mary and St Peter’s Church School in Ilton have received a timely surprise present.
The pupils' school council presented their idea to the teachers that they would like hoodies for PE lessons and wanted a team name for their school’s sports teams.
The youngsters designed the hoodies and created their team name for the school - The Ilton Flyers in honour of the neighbouring Royal Navy helicopter base, which offers fly overs every day.
Daniel from Year 5 said: “These hoodies are so warm and I am proud to be an Ilton Flyer.”
Connel Boyle, executive headteacher said: “Our timing for our school’s present to the children could not have been better to keep them warm outside as the first frosts of the year arrived in South Somerset today.
"Our children have loved their hoodies and all of our children are one brilliant team in our eyes.”
