ILMINSTER Town Council has asked residents who may need a warm place to visit during the autumn and winter to complete a short survey.
This will help the council understand how many people may require assistance through the colder months to guage the need for warm hubs.
The hubs - also known as warm rooms - are designed to help people alleviate the rising cost of living by giving them somewhere to escape the cold.
A spokesperson said: “With winter around the corner and the spiralling cost of fuel, Ilminster Town Council is looking to work with other partners to alleviate the crisis for the community.
“One possibility is the provision of free community warm rooms where members of the community can go to have a cuppa, charge their phone and receive advice on what additional support is available.
“As such, we would be very grateful if you could please complete this short questionnaire which will help us better understand the community need this winter, and help shape how we can best respond.”
The council has asked people who may need help to complete the questionnaire by Friday, November 11.
The survey does not require any personal information (such as a name or address) but focuses on when and how people may use its warm hubs.
The survey can be completed online or at the Ilminster Town Council offices (Old Magistrates Courts, East Street).
Alternatively, residents can phone the offices on 01460 52149 and a member of staff can help them complete the questionnaire.
