AN Ilminster school has invited members of the local community to see its pupils' artwork on display at The Meeting House Arts Centre and the Minster.
Greenfylde First School is hosting its biennial exhibition at the arts centre, showcasing the work of every pupil from pre-school to year four.
The school has a seperate display at the Minster based on its involvement in Sunflowers of Somerset, a community project aimed at encouraging people in the county to grow the plant.
Both displays are available for public viewing until Saturday, June 25.
The school hosted several specialist art days alongside its usual art lessons in the run-up to the exhibitions.
A Greenfyld First School spokesperson said: “This year’s art days have used the skills of staff and visitors to create the stunning work on display in the gallery.
“The school were very pleased to welcome the deputy mayor of lminster, councillor Brian Hamilton, to open this year’s event.
“Huge thanks go to the art lead, Laura Caines, for coordinating all of this.”
The spokesperson added: “Once again we are participating in Sunflowers of Somerset and, after our planting, we are sharing our sunflower work in The Minster.
“Thanks go to the Key Stage Two lead Richard Lewis for coordinating this.
“Greenfylde are very proud of all our artists and we’re sure the community will enjoy both of these exhibits.”
