AN Ilminster author has published a book explaining the noises children can hear around the house after they have gone to bed.
Hailey Burrows was inspired to write When You Go To Sleep At Night after looking after children and reassuring them about the sounds they could hear at night.
The book was published on May 26 by Bumblebee Books, an imprint of Olympia Publishers that specialises in children's literature.
The 31-page paperback features illustrations by artist Maisy Inston, who said she “immensely enjoyed” bringing Hailey's words to life.
Hailey said: “I came up with the idea for the book after babysitting, reading lots of bedtime stories, and explaining to children that the noises they could hear were just the house settling.
“I'm amazed that I've been able to publish my ideas with the help of Maisy's fantastic illustrations and look forward to hopefully publishing more in the future!”
The book's description says: “Do you hear strange noises when you go to bed? Maybe it's the freezer talking or the keys singing!
“When You Go To Sleep At Night takes you on an exciting journey around the house to find out what happens when you are tucked up in bed.”
Hailey's book is available to buy online for a recommended retail price of £6.99 via Amazon and WHSmith.
