HIGHWAYS England South West says the road is now clear and all lanes have re-opened.
MOTORISTS using the A303 westbound today (Friday, February 4) are being warned of "significant disruption" due to a broken down lorry.
The HGV is blocking a single carriageway stretch of the road between Sparkford and Podimore.
Traffic has been halted in both directions according to Highways England.
The road blockage, which began at around 12.30pm is not expected to be cleared before 3.30pm.
Police are advising motorists to use alternative routes.
