A THEATRE company is returning to set to return to the stage this month with a production of Tom's Midnight Garden.
Ilminster Entertainments Society (IES) will be back on stage at the Warehouse Theatre in Ilminster.
The production runs from Tuesday, December 7 until Saturday, December 12.
It is directed and produced by Charlie and Sally Carrington.
“It is wonderful to be back on stage performing to a live audience again," said Charlie.
"Our cast are very excited to be presenting this is a wonderful play for young and old alike.”
During the week, there will be performances at 7.30pm and a matinee performance at 2.30pm on Saturday.
Toms Midnight Garden is a tale adapted for stage from the classic children's book by Philippa Pearce and shifts between the 1950s and the Victorian era.
A spokesperson for IES added: "Young Tom, is quarantined in his Aunt and Uncles’ small flat, due to his sister Peta suffering from Measles.
"Lonely and bored, Tom is intrigued when the mysterious grandfather clock, so beloved by the elderly and reclusive landlady, Mrs Bartholomew, suddenly strikes 13 one night.
"When Tom investigates, he opens the back door to find himself transported back in time into a beautiful Victorian garden in the 1880ies.
"The play follows his meeting with Hattie, a lonely and sad orphan. But is she real or just a dream?
"A tale of friendship, growth and transformation, the truth is revealed in a touching denouement."
Tickets for the show cost £10 for adults, and £6 for children.
You can buy a ticket from Harrimans Menswear, Silver Street, Ilminster or from www.warehousetheare.co.uk.
