WORK to replace the telegraph poles near a beauty spot in Ilminster is set to start next month.
Western Power will be starting work on November 1 in and around Jubilee Wood at the end of West Crescent.
The electricity distribution company informed Ilminster Town Council (ITC) of the decision earlier this month.
"This means that trees which had been planted during 2012 and also in the last couple of years will unfortunately need disturbing," said a spokesperson for ITC.
Work has already started on clearing the hedges and reducing trees, due to their proximity to the power lines.
"Some of the fruit trees will be relocated and the council will be liaising with Green Ilminster to relocate these trees appropriately," added the spokesperson for ITC.
"We have been assured that all of this will be dealt with sympathetically."
School pupils planted the trees in 2012, and they were donated by The Woodland Trust to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
