A MAN was air lifted to hospital after a crash last night (June 24).
The incident, which involved a car and a lorry, happened at at just after 10.20pm at Harp Road, Watergore, South Petherton.
A fire crew from Martock, one from Yeovil, and the heavy rescue vehicle from Yeovil attended the scene, along with police and ambulance crews, according to a Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson.
"One person was trapped in the car, and the lorry driver was walking wounded," they said.
"Crews got to work with two sets of cutting equipment to rescue the trapped male casualty from the car who was then transported to hospital via air ambulance.
"The incident support unit from Martock also attended for additional lighting, and environmental packs were used to deal with spilt fuel.
"Vehicles were made safe and duty of care was left with the police."
