THREE sisters will walk from Crewkerne to Lyme Regis to raise funds for a charity that supported the family in the final weeks of their mother’s life.
Annabel Gray, Laura Tucker, and Sophie Blatchford will set off from Crewkerne to walk 19 miles of The Liberty Trail to Lyme Regis, in memory of their mother Caroline Taylor, who lived in South Somerset for many years, and to raise money for St Margaret's Hospice.
The walk will take place on Saturday, June 1 and a JustGiving page has been set up for online donations.
St Margaret's Hospice supported the family last summer during the final weeks of Caroline’s life before she died on September 17, 2023.
The Hospice team provided unwavering kindness, understanding, support and advice, enabling the family to give their mother the best possible end in her much-loved home.
Hospices like St Margaret’s receive only one-third of their funding via the NHS — the rest comes entirely from donations, so literally every penny helps.
On June 1st, the three sisters along with family and friends will embark on the walk, taking in places along the way that were very special to the family during their mother’s life.
Lawrence's Auctioneers in Crewkerne are very kindly sponsoring the walkers’ picnic lunch, and they will be carrying St Margaret's Hospice collection tins along the way.
