A TOWN council has thanked “eagle-eyed” residents who reported a “large fly-tip” behind a school.
Crewkerne Town Council said they are grateful to members of the public who spotted the fly-tip behind Wadham School, near a “key walking route” for pupils.
A message from Crewkerne Town Council read: “Thank you to those eagle-eyed ramblers who flagged up a large fly-tip behind Wadham School.
“We have reported this directly to StreetScene at the Somerset Council who have logged the job for clearance in the next five days. We have highlighted that this is a key walking route for school children.
“We are grateful to members of the public who act as our 'eyes and ears' around the town.
“Even if an issue is not on town council land or a town council responsibility we will be happy to signpost you to the correct organisation.”
