THE Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for Yeovil joined the Save Our Buses rally held last week to protest against the proposed cuts to four routes.
On Saturday, February 10, Adam Dance, Somerset Councillor for South Petherton & Iselmoor, joined Somerset Bus Partnership in Yeovil to campaign to save important bus routes across Somerset.
The services at risk are:
• 54: Yeovil-Taunton, including stops at Langport, Somerton and Ilchester
• 58/58A: Yeovil-Wincanton, including Sherborne, Milborne Port, Henstridge
• 25: Taunton-Dulverton, including Cotford St. Luke, Norton Fitzwarren, and Wiveliscombe
• 28: Taunton-Minehead, including Bishop's Lydeard, Williton, Watchet and Dunster
Cllr Dance said: "Public transport is a vital lifeline for many Somerset residents and I will do all I can to prevent the closure of bus services.
“At a time when budgets are tight for households, we need to ensure public transport links to hospitals, schools and colleges and to work and back are not curtailed."
The councillor is also urging residents to sign the petition at change.org Somerset buses.
Adam Dance is councillor for South Petherton & Islemoor.
He is also the prospective parliamentary candidate for the forthcoming general election for the Lib Dem.
