TWO people had to be freed after becoming trapped in a two-vehicle road traffic collision.
The vehicles were in a "precarious position and wedged together" after the crash in Crewkerne.
An on-duty fire crew from Yeovil Fire Station and on-call firefighters from Crewkerne were sent to the incident in the Roundham area of the South Somerset town at 1.46am yesterday (Thursday, January 11).
They used a triple extension ladder and GP lines to secure the vehicle into a safe position before assisting the occupants of the vehicles to safety.
Police also attended to carry out traffic management duties as one lane of the highway was closed.
