CHANGES are being introduced to outreach post offices in the Crewkerne area with the introduction of a mobile post office.

Extra communities will also benefit from Post Office services being restored.

The mobile post office will be provided by the Crewkerne Postmaster. All the changes will take effect from week commencing, Monday, November 20.

Post Office services are being restored to Odcombe, Tintinhull, Chilthorne Domer, and Melbury Osmond with the introduction of a mobile service.

A Post Office spokesperson said: "Since the closure of the above services, we have continued to work to identify a solution to restore Post Office services to these local communities.

" A mobile post office service is a tried and tested way of maintaining services to smaller communities.

"It presents the best possible solution to restore Post Office services to these communities."

There are some changes to the existing outreach services at Mosterton, Broadwindsor, Thorncombe, Stoke St Gregory and Shepton Beauchamp. These services will be operated from a mobile vehicle, with some minor changes to the opening hours.

The outreach Post Office services for Charmouth currently provided at Charmouth Library and at The Holland Rooms will cease. Instead, a mobile post office service for Charmouth will be introduced. It will operate from outside Charmouth Community Centre, Lower Sea Lane, Charmouth, DT6 6LH, on Thursdays, between, 11.30am and 4pm.

A mobile post office service will again operated at North Cadbury, Buckhorn Weston, Charlton Horethorne, and Corton Denham. These services will operate from the previous mobile stop locations, with new opening hours.

To accommodate the above changes, there will also be some changes to the current opening hours at Uploders outreach Post Office service.

The spokesperson added: "We are keen to restore services to this community as soon as possible, so we have decided to go ahead with our plans.

"Feedback can be given on locations and how easy it is to get there and any comments on the opening hours until December 1."
