A SCHOOL in Crewkerne has retained its 'good' Ofsted rating after the most recent inspection.
Maiden Beech Academy, which caters for pupils aged 9-13, was rated good in all areas following the inspection in February 2022.
The report says that the school, which has 383 children, has a 'harmonious' atmosphere.
As well as this, the report stated that:
- Leaders have devised a broad curriculum that benefits from the strong subject knowledge of staff.
- Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities thrive at the school. Pupils with SEND are confident, successful learners.
- Across the curriculum, lessons enrich pupils’ understanding of the world around them.
Headteacher of Maiden Beech Academy, Carl Winch, said the school is 'so proud of everyone'.
"We are delighted that the Ofsted inspection team recognised all the wonderful things happening at the school in their recent inspection, and all the great children and staff here too," he said.
"As Ofsted mentioned, our staff model good behaviour and have strong relationships with the pupils and I’m lucky enough to experience that every day when walking through our brilliant school.
“We are so pleased that the broad curriculum and wider support the staff have continued to offer the children and develop throughout the pandemic, and beyond, has been recognised.”
