HAVE you been naughty or nice? Because Santa Claus is coming back to Chard town, Somerset again this year with Chard Carnival Committee.
Chard Carnival Committee will be touring Chard with the Santa float this year, this will start on Tuesday, December 2 and run through to Sunday, December 23.
Chard residents can catch Father Christmas at Tesco on Saturday, December 7 and 14, between 1.30pm and 3.30pm.
According to Councillor Jason Baker, it is “great” to be able to do this tradition again in 2024.
“It brings such joy to people when they see Father Christmas going past their home, young and old often ask when its coming and eagerly await its arrival,” he said.
This year is expected to be even better than previous years, with The Phoenix Hotel and Chard CommuniTEA Waffle sponsoring the event.
If you would like to get involved with the Santa float or help in anyway with the committee, please do not hesitate to get in contact with us via the Chard Carnival website chardcarnival.co.uk.
“We are very grateful for their support this year as this has meant that we have been able to take the float out again this year,” Cllr Jason added. “We rely on not just the hard work and dedication of the Carnival Committee but a huge number of volunteers who travel around the town and villages collecting with Santa, all the money raised goes to help support local groups and clubs across our town so please give generously.”
