MULTIPLE roads in the Chard and Ilminster News patch areas are closing from today onwards, so make sure to plan ahead when driving.
This is on top of many recent roadworks being done in Chard and Ilminster and the surrounding areas and road closures due to flooding caused from Storm Bert's battering of Somerset last weekend.

List of road closures
Henford Hill
Hendford Hill is currently closed today (November 28) for emergency works to remove tree branches that are dangerous for HGVs, buses and other tall vehicles.
The closure will be removed as soon as the road has been made safe and the road should be reopening no later than 17:00 today.

Station Road Roundabout and Station Road, Ilminster
Station Road Roundabout and Station Road (a total of 166 metres of road) will be closed due to preparation works for a total of five days from today (November 28) until December 6 between the hours of 6.30pm-11.30pm.
Summerlands Park Drive, Ilminster
Summerlands Park Drive – from the junction with Summerlands Park Avenue to the junction with Summerlands Park Close (a total distance of 78 metres) will be closed all day every day from December 2 until December 4.
This is due to Wessex Water essential sewer lining works being done to prevent structural collapse.
Rackley Lane, Chard
Rackley Land, Chard will be closed from the junction with Castlemain to the junction with Hornsey Lane (a total distance of 1325 metres).
The works are expected to commence on December 2 and last until December 11, between the hours of 7am-7pm.
This is to enable Kiely Bros to carry out pre-surface dressing and patching works on behalf of Somerset Highways.
