LAST night (Monday, November 25) one of Chard Fire Station's Crew Managers Sasha White received her "thoroughly deserved" long service and good conduct certificate medal.
Whilst serving in Fire Control, Sasha received two Chief Fire Officer’s commendations.
One from The Devon and Somerset Chief Fire Officer and one from Dorset and Wiltshire Chief Fire Officer - both in recognition of her actions of going "above the normal call of duty" during two separate fire domestic persons reported incidents.
Sasha White joined Somerset Fire and Rescue Service in August 2000 as an on call firefighter at Chard Fire station and over the years she eventually progressed to temporary Crew Manager.
Sasha then joined Fire Control in 2017 as a fulltime firefighter, progressing to become temporary Crew Manager and then leaving Fire Control in May 2022 to join Taunton Blue Watch as Crew Manager.
Sasha has continued her on call service at Chard throughout her 22 year service, currently as Crew manager.
