CHARD’s Christmas Lights switch-on event will be scaled back on Saturday, November 23, 2024, owing to the weather conditions from Storm Bert
A spokesperson for Chard Town Council said: “Following the weather report we have decided to scale back the event this evening, the Christmas market will still be taking place between 10am - 2pm & 4pm to 8pm and all stalls other than hot food will be inside the Guildhall.”
Father Christmas will still be in his grotto from 5pm to 8pm in Chard Guildhall.
The Christmas lights switch on will also still take place, but the roads will not be closed until 6.30pm.
Hot food stalls will be outside the Guildhall and Father Christmas will arrive win his sleigh at 7pm to turn the lights on.
