THE Forefront Community Centre, South Chard Hub, and Chard Community Hub are launching this year's Chard Christmas Present Appeal.

They are calling on the community to come together and donate toys for children between the ages of zero to 16 years old.

This initiative aims to ensure that every child in the Chard community experiences the joy of receiving a gift this Christmas, especially those who may not otherwise.

Martyna Cwalina, of Forefront Community Centre said: “We started our first appeal during the Covid pandemic and thanks to our fantastic community and their generosity, we decided to carry on our appeal each year since

“We are asking people to donate new, unwrapped toys and gifts for children who might not otherwise receive a gift this Christmas. We can also accept financial donations, and encourage those that would prefer to do this to get in touch.

“Last year’s campaign was a huge success, with more than 100 families supported, and we hope to build on that success this year.

"We recognise that things are very difficult financially for many families in the Chard area this year, making this appeal even more crucial.”

A spokesperson for the Chard Christmas Present Appeal said: "Even donating one toy will make all the difference and bring a smile to a child's face.

The deadline for donations is Friday, November 15.
