FLOODING and heavy rain are also causing delays in waste collections.
Chard and Donyatt have been affected by these delays, Somerset Council said.
A spokesperson said: “Sorry, there may be some delays to collections in Chard, Hatch Beauchamp, Curry Mallet, Beercrowcombe, Stewley, North Curry, Wrantage, Hatch Beauchamp, Fivehead, West Hatch and Donyatt.
“This is due to the recent heavy rainfall causing flooding in some areas. Other locations may also be affected.
“Crews will return as soon as they are able to. Please leave boxes, bins and bags out for collection.”
The A358 is currently closed near Peasmarsh and Donyatt.
