Children from Combe St Nicholas C of E Primary School held a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan.
It took place on September 27, alongside the school's Harvest Service.
The schoolchildren presented their harvest gifts to Reverend Deborah, who will forward these to The Lord’s Larder.
In total, the coffee morning, organised by Year 6 pupils, raised an outstanding £243.16 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
It's been quite a busy few months for the pupils, who also participated in the Chard Library’s Summer Reading Challenge, Marvelous Makers, during their holidays.
Each child read six books and was rewarded with a certificate and medal.
Combe St Nicholas' headteacher, Mrs Maxwell, praised the initiative: "It is known that children’s reading fluency can be affected by not practising so the Reading Challenge is a wonderful way for our children to keep up during the Summer break."
The school is proud of its students for their dedication to both charitable causes and their education.
