A CHARD bus driver could be facing a driving ban after allegedly being found nearly double the drink drive limit while at the wheel of a vehicle.
Jose Da Silva, 59, of Combe Street, appeared in the dock before Somerset Magistrates at Yeovil.
He was charged that on August 16 at Chard he drove a vehicle after consuming excess alcohol when he was stopped by police and breathalysed.
The breath test reading was said to have been 64mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg of alcohol.
Da Silva pleaded not guilty to the allegation and the court was told that he did not accept the breath test reading.
The case was reviewed and adjourned until December 16 when he was ordered to return to the court to stand trial.
