A CHARD motorist has been banned for drug driving.
Jasmine Bale, 20, of Touches Meadow, tested positive for Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) after being stopped in Station Road, Ilminster, on January 21 this year.
THC is the main psychoactive substance found in cannabis.
Taunton Magistrates’ Court heard that she had 9.7 micrograms of the drug per litre of blood, exceeding the specified limit of two micrograms.
Bale changed her plea to guilty during a hearing in the court.
She was handed an obligatory driving disqualification of 12 months.
She was also ordered to pay a fine of £405, along with a £162 victim surcharge and a contribution of £350 towards Crown Prosecution Services costs.
