Livestock were stuck in a lorry after it overturned on a roundabout at around 7.52pm on Saturday (August 31).
Fire Control sent one fire engine from Ilminster initially, as there were no one trapped within the vehicle, however, due to the nature of the incident and the fact the lorry was carrying livestock, crews on scene requested further assistance.
Two fire engines from Chard and the Tactical Rescue Team from Exmouth (to help with the animals involved) were sent to assist.
The driver of the HGV had requested recovery and the Fire Service worked alongside the Police to assist with moving the animals to safety.
Crews used small tools, edraulic cutting equipment, animal rescue equipment and a mechanical aid from the recovery company.
Duty of care was left with the farmer and the Police.
