Devon and Somerset Fire crews from Chard and Axminster were called at around 11am on Saturday, after a car crash on the A30 near Chard.
Fire Control received a call from the Police to request assistance at an incident just off the A30 near Chard.
1 fire engine from Chard and 1 from Axminster were sent to the location.
On arrival, crews confirmed this to be a road traffic collision where a car had left the highway and collided with a tree.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "One casualty was removed from the vehicle by fire crews on a scoop stretcher and assisted paramedics with the care of the casualty. Edraulic equipment and small tools were also used.
"Crews made the vehicle and scene safe. Duty of care was left with the Police."
