Drivers in and around South Somerset will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.
And one of them is expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that six closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:
• A303, from 9pm August 27 to 6am September 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 Sparkford traffic signals for Sparkford to Ilchester improvement scheme.
• A303, from 9am August 19 to 3pm September 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 both directions Hayes End to Parkhouse - mobile lane works for drainage works.
• A303, from midnight, January 29 to 6am November 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 eastbound, Sparkford lane closure/contraflow for Sparkford to Ilchester improvement scheme.
• A303, from 8pm December 8 2021 to 6am November 2 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 both directions 50mph speed limit for Sparkford to Ilchester improvement scheme.
• A303, from 6am November 29 2023 to 6am November 2 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 westbound, Sparkford lane closure for Sparkford to Ilchester improvement scheme.
• A303, from 6am May 9 2023 to 9pm November 2 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 both directions Podimore to Sparkford lane closures/contraflow for Sparkford to Ilchester improvement scheme.
And a further two closures will begin over the next two weeks:
• A30, from 8pm September 2 to 6am September 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 both directions Newtown to Newcott carriageway closed for surveys. Diversion via A30 and A358.
• A303, from 8pm September 16 to 6am September 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A303 both directions Southfields roundabout to A30, junction closed for general maintenance, diversion vie A30, A350 and vice versa.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
