SUMMER is here, and there are a range of events happening around Chard and Ilminster that residents can look forward to.
The first is on August 10: A two-course Bottomless Brunch from 11am at Stuarts Café on the Dillington Estate, priced at £39.99.
Tickets are on sale at the moment for Chard Rock, which takes place on August 10 and 11. The line-up includes a tribute act of Iron Maiden and Guns N Roses and Rage Against The Machine. See more on the Chard Rock website.
On August 11, there is a Summer BBQ Spectacular from 12pm again at Stuarts Café, priced is £12.95.
August 12, there is a Summer Cricket Camp from 10am at Chard Cricket Club.
On Thursday, August 15 and Thursday, August 29, from 2pm to 4pm, Chard Community Hub is holding a free summer staycation with Arts and Crafts, Kid's Activities, Games, and Refreshments.
August 17 to 18 at Hinton St George Open Gardens from 1pm at St Georges Hall, Hinton Saint George, priced at £8.
On Sunday, August 18 from 2pm, you can bring a picnic from 1pm for a performance by the AKA Dance Theatre. Shed Ache is a described as a "seriously silly dance theatre show for little people and their grown ups".
The performance takes place next to Lifestyle Fitness at Holyrood Academy, Zembard Lane in Chard.
It is family-friendly and recommended for ages 2+. There is no need to book this is a free event, but Chard Community Hub will be 'happy to receive donations on the day.
Ilminster Party in the Park takes place from 10am to 8am on Sunday. August 25.
This year's party includes a Classic Car show from 10am, Fun Family Dog Show from 1pm, Live entertainment from midday.
This includes over 12 live acts, from solo singers and dance troupes to five-piece rock bands, charity stalls, food stalls (including a hog roast, BBQ and cream teas and bars), bouncy castles and a raffle/tombola.
