ELEOS Café has been rated by Tripadvisor as the number one place to eat in Chard, so I thought I would try it for myself.

Stepping into the café on July 31, I was immediately greeted by the friendly staff and a huge range of options for lunch. I was stuck between a Ploughman's lunch or a wrap. I chose the BBQ wrap with a salad and an iced latte.

The café was busy with outside and inside seating, but the service was speedy; I was only perusing the menu and my lunch was already at the table.

The meal was fantastic. The wrap was full of pulled pork, mixed with cheese which was brilliantly flavoured and complemented the fresh wrap perfectly. The salad came with a delicious vinaigrette dripped on the salad.

I'm never normally a fan of iced lattes, but I was converted after having one at Eleos. It was delicious and just hit the spot on a hot day.

Other options include paninis, breakfast and veggie crumpets, waffles, pancakes and bagels.

They also have hot and cold drinks, snacks and scones (jam and cream, seeing as I live in Devon). There was also a fantastic selection of fillings for the wraps and paninis.

The café at 28 Fore Street has been rated as the number one place to eat in Chard according to Tripadvisor, with friendly staff and brilliant food for sale.

It featured in a list of five top-rated cafés on June 30.

"Eleos is my No1 café, and just to add they have just won an award for "Café of the Year."

This locally-owned café was a fantastic choice, and I would recommend it if you are in Chard at lunchtime.
