A ROAD in Chard will be closed this evening to allow the replacement of a “loose and dangerous” manhole cover.
Victoria Avenue will close from 7pm to 11pm tonight, Monday, July 1.
Chard Town Council said: “Please note we have received the below correspondence from Wessex Water with regards to an urgent road closure this evening affecting Victoria Avenue, Chard.
“This is to replace a manhole cover that is currently loose and dangerous, which needs to be rectified as soon as possible.
"Following conversations with Somerset Council, we will be closing the road on Monday, July 1 between 7pm to 11pm.
“The closure will be between the junction of Victoria Avenue Roundabout, and the entrance to Victoria Court."
