A FOOTBALL club will hold a free fun day to “create a social connection” in Chard.
Chard Football Club said they thought about a Summer Fun Day as they recognise that “not everyone in the community likes football”.
The event will take place this weekend on Saturday, May 25.
A message from the club read: “Not everyone in the community likes football, Chard Town FC recognises this so to create a social connection we are holding a Summer Fun Day on May 25.
“This is a free event and we hope to bring people of Chard together and bond friendships.
“This also gives people an opportunity to see how the football club runs cement their role as an important community institution and help to grow their local profile.
“It’s not just a football club it’s a community hub.
“Everyone is welcome to join us from 2pm onwards.
“We would like to thank West Country Butchers Nicky and Team in the Community and C & D South West Ltd for all their help towards our community Summer Fun Day on Saturday.
“If any other businesses would like to help in any way they can please contact us.”
