FLOOD warnings have been issued in Somerset after last night’s heavy rainfall.
Some areas in South Somerset have already been affected, Travel Somerset reported.
Warnings have been issued around the River Axe, from Winsham to Axminster, including Chard Junction and the River Tone catchment.
River levels affected include the River Axe in the Chard area, and the River Tone around Hillfarrance, Bradford on Tone, Ham, and the Creech St Michael to Henlade road.
Surface water is expected on roads, and motorists are being urged to drive carefully and plan ahead.

An update from Travel Somerset said: “Flood warnings have been issued in Somerset due to the overnight rainfall.
"Areas affected are around the River Axe, from Winsham to Axminster, including Chard Junction, & the River Tone catchment.”
Here is the latest update from the Environment Agency: "Flooding is expected this morning, Thursday, May 2.
"Heavy rain falling in the area overnight and this morning has caused the River Axe to rise.
"Property flooding is expected at Chard Junction, Axe Farm, Coaxdon and Weycroft Cottages, Mosterton, Clapton, Tytherleigh and Broom, Axminster (Stoneybridge).
"Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas.
"People in this area should consider taking action now and installing any property flood resilience measures.
"Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings.
"We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated as the situation changes."
