A MAN in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of three counts of burglary which took place in Chard.

The burglaries took place last week and among the items stolen were three vehicles, four sets of car keys, and two wallets.

One of the vehicles was tracked and then found by officers in Exeter.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said a man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of three counts of dwelling burglary and added he “has since been released under investigation and enquiries are ongoing”.

The spokesperson also said: "Officers are investigating three separate burglaries which took place in Chard in the early hours of Wednesday morning last week (April 17).

"Among the items stolen were three vehicles, four sets of car keys, and two wallets.

"One of the vehicles was recovered near one of the addresses and a second vehicle, a black BMW, was tracked to Exeter where officers found it.

"Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police arrested a man in his 20s on suspicion of three counts of dwelling burglary on behalf of Avon and Somerset Police.

"He has since been released under investigation and enquiries are ongoing."
