A PRIMARY school in Chard has raised money to support kids’ education in a village in Nepal.
At Thorncombe St Mary's, the children have recently had a Worship from a lady who supports a village in Nepal.
She shared with the children how difficult it can be for the children in this village to receive an education due to not having the money needed to afford it.
The school's very passionate Ethos Council met to discuss what they could do to help after learning that it costs £60 to fund a child's education for a full year.
They decided to run a Bags2School event and invited the community to donate unwanted clothes.
This raised £92 and £60 of this money raised will be going towards supporting a child's education in Nepal.
The school wishes to extend a huge ‘thank you’ to members of the wider community who donated generously to this great cause.
