Culturally Chard is celebrating the last three years by launching a new network and its very own film.
Somerset Art Works, Chard Town Council, and Somerset Council were awarded a grant, on behalf of a consortium of local partners, from Historic England. The grant's purpose was to support the Chard High Street Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ) Cultural Programme.
In the past three years, creative and community organisations in Chard have collaborated to develop Culturally Chard, which has delivered over 140 events and multiple projects.
The newly formed Culturally Chard Network aims to continue these collaborative efforts and make Chard a more attractive, engaging, and vibrant place for the community.
The initiative was part of the Chard High Street Heritage Action Zone Cultural Programme.
This programme was funded by Historic England, Arts Council England, and the National Heritage Memorial Fund from Spring 2021 to Spring 2024.
A three-minute film has also been launched to give a taste of what Culturally Chard is all about.
For those interested in viewing the film, and for further information about Culturally Chard, visit culturallychard.org.
