A MAIN road linking Chard and a nearby village will be closed for four days in April.
Forton Road, which runs from Chard to Forton, will be closed 24-hours per day from Monday, April 8, until Friday, April 12.
South West Coaches have announced they will be unable to serve the neighbouring village during the closure.
On Twitter, a spokesperson said: "During this closure we won't be able to serve the Village of Forton, Ashcroft and King Athelstan Drive."
The 10.9km stretch of tarmac will be shut whilst Wessex Water work to install a new meter.
A diversion route has been put in place by Somerset Council ahead of the closure, which will see road users sent towards and onto Crewkerne Road, East Street, and Fore Street - then towards Crowshute Link and Holyrood Street before arriving back on Forton Road.
A spokesperson for Travel Somerset said: "We do our utmost to minimise disruption where possible."
