PUPILS at a primary school visited the village shop as part of their weekly cooking session.
Children from Little Acorns and Reception at Thorncombe St Mary's Primary School recently went on a trip to the shop to learn about “real-life opportunities”.
A spokesperson for the school said: “The children went to buy ingredients for their weekly cooking sessions.
“Whilst they were there, the children enjoyed having a look around the shop and spoke to the lady behind the till about her role in the community.
“The children learnt all about the shop and how it all works, and they were amazed to find out the shop is run by volunteers.
“Thorncombe School enjoys experiencing these real-life opportunities on their doorstep and they work closely with the community around them.”
