AS there were no scheduled matches last weekend for Chard Rugby Club, the squad took a week to rest and recuperate ahead of the season run in.
Games will start again on Saturday, March 2 when the 1st xv entertain Teignmouth kicking off at 2.30pm.
In the context of the season this is a massive game for Chard against a good mid table side.
Chard won the away game by a single point at Teignmouth so an exciting game is in prospect.
The club has confirmed some exciting news regarding a past captain from 1973.
"Former Chard captain Richard Gard who led the team 50 years ago in the 1973/4 season has contacted the club to say that he will be at the game," the club said.
"Lets get a big crowd at the club to help the players get a vital win."
Elsewhere, Chard 2nd xv are also playing next weekend when they travel to play Castle Cary 1st xv kick off 2.30pm.
