A FREE workshop will help residents to learn about the history of listed buildings in Chard.
Chard has 133 listed buildings and thanks to this initiative anyone interested has the opportunity to learn about their history.
The event will take place at Chard Guildhall on Thursday, February 15, between 10am and 3pm.
It is a Historic England initiative in partnership with Chard Museum and Somerset Council.
Samantha Barnes of Historic England said: “Chard’s historic centre - a designated “High Street Heritage Action Zone” (HSHAZ) - is home to 50 listed buildings, with the wider Chard Conservation Area featuring over 130 such historic buildings.
"The ‘Missing Pieces’ project is a fun, interactive way to work together with the local community to share knowledge and insight into our local town and heritage, as well as uncover new and exciting details about the structures and buildings that shape our lives today.”
A message promoting the event read: “Did you know that there are 133 listed buildings in Chard?
“Do you have a memory of one of them?
“Join Chard Museum and Historic England for a free workshop and share your stories as part of the Missing Pieces Project.
“Please bring an internet-enabled laptop or tablet (not a mobile phone).
“Refreshments and lunch will be provided. Suitable for all ages, booking is essential.
