CHARD Reservoir has shared a warning to its visitors as water froze after the recent cold temperatures.
The weather has “caused some beautiful wintery scene”, the reservoir’s team said, but the ice “is thinner than it seems”.
A spokesperson for the reservoir said: “We've seen some cold temperatures over the last week, which has caused some beautiful wintery scenes here at Chard Reservoir.
“Whilst the icy look of the waters may look stunning, please do not attempt to walk on the ice, as it is thinner than it seems. Stay safe and warm out there, folks.
“Thank you for your co-operation.”
As the cold weather continues, the Met Office is warning Somerset residents of possible disruptions.
A weather warning is in place between 6am and 11.59pm on Sunday (January 21) due to strong winds.
