THE A358 near Ilminster is “impassable both ways due to flooding”.
Residents and motorists are being warned of flooding from Ilminster turn-off to Horton Cross.

A358 Chard Road just passable due to flooding between Chard (Chard) and Axminster (Axminster). Approach with care. Please drive carefully.
Travel Somerset said: “A358 both ways impassable due to flooding from Ilminster turn off (Peasmarsh) to The Monks Yard cafe (Horton Cross).”
It also added: “A358 Chard Road just passable due to flooding between Chard (Chard) and Axminster (Axminster). Approach with care. Please drive carefully.”

The council’s traffic authority also said “significant surface water on the roads today after major rainfall overnight, yellow weather warning for rain remains in place”.
There are also "reports of significant surface water and flooding in Crewkerne and South Petherton.
Buses of Somerset also shared a message on Twitter to warn its customers of some disruptions: "Sorry the 30 service Taunton to Axminster will be only going as far as Perry street this is due to the road between Chard and Axminster being flooded."
