A STRETCH of the A358 near Ilminster has been reopened after “serious flooding” earlier today (Wednesday, October 25).
Somerset Council confirmed the A358 in Donyatt update “has been cleared and is now open following flooding earlier today”.
The road was closed after police were called at around 5.45am following a report of a car stuck in water on the A358 Donyatt Hill.
The car had made it out of the water by the time officers arrived and the road was closed, the force said.

A series of flood warnings and alerts are still in place, however, for the Chard and Ilminster areas.
A warning was issued for the River Isle at Ilminster while another is in place from Chard Reservoir to Hambridge.
