A SOMERSET man has been banned from driving for six months and slapped with a £407 court bill after he was caught speeding in Chard.
Elias Sanchez Webb, of The Crescent, Farrington Gurney, was caught driving at 41mph on the A358, exceeding the 30mph speed limit, on January 19, 2023.
The 22-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence at North Somerset Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, September 19 and was sentenced on the same day.
Webb was fined £230 and told to pay a £92 victim surcharge and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Court documents said his disqualification was obligatory due to “repeat offending”.
His guilty plea was taken into account when he was sentenced.
Webb has until Tuesday, October 3 to pay his £407 court bill.
